PT Inalum has conducting training for fishermen group around the company to improve their catches result.
This training is in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries and Marine of Batu Bara regency. The method given is how to create and maintain “rumpon” (artificial reefs). The Company facilitates manufacture 100 blocks rumpon and installation the rumpon in Batu Bara sea.Now, based on reports from the fishermen say that the total fish catch of fishermen group is increase than before. Training of rumpon was conducted on August 6, 2009, and the installation of 100 blocks of rumpon was executed on November 9, 2009 at Batu Bara sea.
Presently, the company is continuing this program for another group of fishermen. The second program was held on May 26, 2010.
